It's a type of bird that has a kind of blue bib that can glow in the dark and when it's wings cover the background of it's head. It's black and it likes to do a f u n n y l👀king dance whenever it's bib is glowing. It also likes to show of it's glowing bib to other birds and it uses it's glow to attract a mate.

2017 Maniakialani Film Festival

On the 8th of November my school and I went to the film festival and watched 30 movies in cinema 2.  My school and I watched rooms 1, 5, 10, and 12's movies. Our movie called All About Love was last because it was the best, that's what I think. We were watching with St.Pius, Tamaki college and Pt. england but Tamaki college and Pt.egland were only presenters. One of my favourite movies was our own and that was All About Love because it was funny.

Tristan's Learning Goals For Term 4

These are my goals for term 4 2017 and last term I only failed to achieve one goal and that was for general. So now I'm going to achieve it this term.

My Cool But Expensive Holiday

In the holiday's I did two cool things but they were both expensive. I went to paintball and and snowplanet. The first thing i'm going to write about is paintball (because it's the coolest activty i've done in my life). I went paintball with my dad (who didn't play), uncle, my uncles friend and my cousins. The most amazing part was when I got to shoot everyone with one of the adults machine guns
This is what snow planet looks like so you can see a image of the pain. I felt a lot of pain while going up the zip line that takes me to the top. It was sore because it is hard to keep control of your skies while your going up, and I only got to the very top once. Then I fell.

We are learning to  understand the meaning and the text. Today we read our first chapter book that was called the next finder. It is pretty easy even though the book is for year sevens and eights.

My First Pet Dog 6 Years Ago

Six years ago I had always wanted a pet, any kind of pet it didn't matter to me. I just wanted it to be cute and soft to hug. I told my mum about having one but she said no!

Luckily my auntie had round about a three month old male puppy. She didn't like it so she wanted to sell it, but no one wanted it so she said "I guess I have to take you to the animal control Chucky". That was his name and it suited him. After I heard her say that I was begging her to buy it but she said "No!" too just like my mum. I ran into my room angry. She felt sorry for me and soon after that she decided to surprise me by giving me a chance to take care of Chucky. I didn't realize that until later.

Moments later I fell asleep my 13 year old brothers ran in my room and told me to close my eyes. I was thinking that I was going to get a growling from my mum. My brothers told me to open my eyes and it was right there the golden brown puppy. I was so surprised I didn't know what to. My mum gave me the puppy to hold she said "I will only buy food for you to feed it but you also have to let it out for it's business and give it water and bath it".

I told my mum that I could do it. My brothers said that they would if I only because it was cute. first I bathed it and always gave it water and food every night time. Then let it out for a run out the backyard. all back inside and let it sleep with me so I can keep warm and it can keep warm.

When I go to sleep I get cold because my mum thinks the dog stinks so she calls it to get off my bed. Or sometimes it walks of to sleep on the bed. sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night call it back on. When I wake up I clean my bed while it's outside.

My dog is outrageous and I love it.

Back in the day we didn't have any technology to tell us the weather, we had to tell the weather by looking close at the sky to see what the weather will be.Someone told me two thing to tell the weather without technology 1.that when it rains at night it is going to be a beautiful day tomorrow 2.when the sky is red at sunset and you wake up in  the morning it's going to be a beautiful day. So sometimes you don't need technology for anything.

My Favourite Christmas Present Ever

My favourite memory was during Christmas. I woke up on Christmas day and I was so excited. I went to go to open one of my presents but my parents said no. I had to go wake up my sister so that we could open our presents together. When I woke her up we ran into the lounge and went straight towards the presents. I was looking for one of my presents and then my sister found it but it was a small box.

 I was thinking that it would be something small and a bit like junk but then I opened it up and it was an iPod. I was so surprised that I didn't even want to open any of my other presents. I had to though so I continued. I was rushing to open my presents so that I could finish and play on my iPod. When I opened all of my presents I went straight to my dad so that he could do all of the setting up on my brand new iPod. Suddenly I stopped and thought to myself, what games would I want on my new iPod?

 I said Transformers, Angry Birds, the normal Angry Birds, 4 Pics One Word and Clash of Clans. I told my dad all of the games that I wanted and when he finished loading it all I wanted to play with it right away. Then he turned off my iPod and gave it to me. When I turned it on I forgot about my password but then my dad told me it was ****. I can't tell you. After that I went to my sister and we were playing 4 Pics One Word.

We played on it until the battery went down to 20%. So I told my sister that I needed to charge it. When the battery went to 100% I went to my sister to play again but she was sleeping. So I went on it and played Clash of Clans and Angry Birds and Transformers. After that I told my dad that I going to download some other games but he said no and I got angry so I put it on charge and went to sleep. That was my favourite memory.

Back To School!

Back to school!. Welcome back everybody I hope you're ready for school because I am. I'm here to tell you one of my goals for term 3. It's going to be on reading. For my reading goal for this term is to reach a higher level but before I do that I need to understand the text, summerise the story, and be able to know the meaning of a hard or bald word.

Skip Off!

The skip off, this was the skip off and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd was Limiteti 1st, Fakaola 2nd and Meana 3rd. Room 10 were counting on me, Fakaola, Mary-Ruth and Liza.

Massive Volcano Erupts In Mexico!

The Popocatepetl volcano in Mexico has erupted, throwing ash, water vapour and gas into the air. The eruption has made a ash cloud that reaches 2,000 metres above the volcanoes crater. That's more than five times the height of the empire state building in New York! A huge crater is created on top of the volcano after the first eruption blows the top of it off. People living nearby has been given advice about how to protect themselves from the ash. There are more than 3,000 volcano's but 14 are considered to be active.

Science!

This is my science experiment from yesterday. We had to watch a video about sound and vibrations, but I made a string phone. I made it with two plastic cups, a string, a sharp pencil and sellotape. First I got the two cups and put sellotape on the bottom outside, then I poked a hole in the middle on the sellotape and when there was a hole big enough for the string to fit. After you made the hole the you take the sellotape of and put the string in the hole and the tie a knot at the end and then pull it tight and talk. WALLAH!

St Kents Sport!

This is our day at st kents. At st kents we played two games with two groups of st kents people.First I played master and I got my first shot against a st kent guy.then he asked if I played a little bit of basketball and I said" yes" so he said" you're pretty good for a ten year old and I said" thanks". After that we went to another place(but we were still with the same group)and played a game of capture the flag and I got to the flag tree times and only got taged with it once. I never got a goal with the flag but I passed it to my teammate Miana and she got two goals out of it.After that me and my group went to another group of st kents and we played bang with them and then we played a game were we had to tangle our arms and try to untangle them. At the end we sang happy birthday to one of our friends.

Today I read a book called Catching The Bus In Samoa. It was talking about how a bus in Samoa compares to how to catch a bus in N.Z.In Samoa they have one door but in N.Z we have about three doors.

In Tonga I learnt that Tonga it is very hot island and that that Tonga is a very poor country, so when I grow up I want to donate some money there (by Tristan, Malia, Toupou and Kain).

Poppies Grow Row And Row

This is Flanders field where the poppies grow row and row. This was just a decoration for our cinquain poem. The cinquain poem is easy to do you just need to do the title for the first line, something to describe the first line for the second line (but I didn't do that anyway) and on the third line you write something about actions, and the fourth line is feelings or emotions.Finally the last line is about your title to (but as you can see on my poem I didn't do that.

New Duffy Books!

This is the first Duffy assembly when we get our Duffy books 2017! Today we met a new person and an old person. The old person that we met again was henry, and the new person was Robert(aka the brown wiggle) was funny. His favourite book when he was little was Asterix.

Swimming Day

Kia ora this is one of the first days of swimming. When I was swimming I learnt all kinds of techniques like free style, stream line, back stroke and many more. Sometimes we play games in the pool. We mostly play who can hold there breath the longest.

Kia ora my name Tristan and my favourite hobby is doing sports. My favourite foods to eat are Burger King, Mc Donald's and KFC. I play rugby and tag both in under tens. For rugby last year I got three player of the year trophies and one runner up. I didn't get any tag trophies because I'm just starting this year. My rugby team is called Ellerslie Eagles and my tag team is called the Niue savages. I train with my team two days and I train the rest of the days with my cousins team Niue lions under eights.

The Duffy Show!

Fakalofa lahi atu this is the first Duffy show that we had in 2017. I think that this is my best Duffy show ever because they did real life and cool science experiments. Duffy use to be a normal boy but then global girl came to earth and gave him the opportunity to be a superhero.
